Program Overview
Faith Foundation Northwest is offering rebates to eligible small Washington nonprofit organizations to cover the full cost of replacing most fossil fuel heating or cooling system types with a high-efficiency electric heat pump.
Through this program, Faith Foundation Northwest's goal is twofold: take fossil fuel systems out of service, and improve conditions in the buildings where Washingtonians most affected by climate change come for services. Every dollar is aimed at removing fossil fuel infrastructure. So, only spaces currently heated or cooled with fossil fuels are eligible.
The program is funded by Washington's Climate Commitment Act and administered through the Washington State Department of Commerce's State Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program. You do not need to be a faith community to apply. The HEAR26 program is open to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Washington.

Organizations are eligible based upon the following criteria:

How Much You Can Receive
Rebates cover 100% of eligible project costs, up to $75,000 per project. No match is required.
You may combine this rebate with federal, utility, or other state and local incentives, as long as all rebates together do not exceed 100% of your project cost. You may not receive rebates from two different State HEAR–funded programs for the same project unless the Washington State Department of Commerce has authorized those programs to collaborate.
If your project costs more than $75,000, you are responsible for the difference. We will require secured funding for any remainder as a stipulation of the Memorandum of Agreement. As good stewards of limited funding, we would like to be sure that a project can finish.
How the money moves
Your choice of installer is vetted, enters into an agreement with you, invoices you for the work (typically, post installation), a rebate is paid to your organization in the exact amount of the invoice, and you pay your installer directly.

A Note on Prioritization
Every eligible application is scored. Final scores are submitted to applicants at the conclusion of selection. Because we seek to prioritize those most impacted by climate change, priority goes to organizations that:
These are priorities, not requirements. An application that meets none of them is still eligible and still scored.
We anticipate that we will score and verify more applicants than we can fund. Some applicants may be placed in reserve, as a result. If you're placed in reserve, your project moves forward only if funds remain after the first round of installations closes. We will inform all selected applicants of their assigned category when we send notifications in October.
