GREEN ENERGY GRANTS FOR CHURCHES IN OREGON

Church trustees: take note as funding from the Inflation Reduction Act trickles down through state and local governments. Here at the Foundation, we’ve sorted through dozens of Oregon grant programs, and identified four that we think churches will be eligible for. If any of the following projects are on your wishlist, keep the associated grant on your meeting agendas in the coming months. If you have additional/different information, please share it with us at staff@faith.foundation so that we can update this post accordingly.

APPLY ASAP (call a special meeting)

EV charging stations in church parking lots

  • Pays for up to 75% of project cost, maximum $5,500

  • Funds are awarded on a rolling basis, with 650K left as of May 30. Apply ASAP


COMING SOON (put it on your next meeting agenda)

Heat Pumps in rental homes (parsonages count)

  • Pays for up to 60% of project cost, maximum $7,000 for heat pump and $4000 for infrastructure upgrades that make heat pump possible

  • Applications expected to open in July 2024


COMING LATER (put it on the agenda sometime before the end of the year)

Solar Panels (Solar for All) in low-income single-family homes (parsonages count), rebates for multifamily buildings, and community solar projects. 

  • Unclear how much it will pay for, project still being designed

  • Applications expected to open late 2024 or early 2025

Home Electrification (parsonages count)

  • Unclear how much it will pay for, project still being designed

  • Implementation through Energy Trust of Oregon and others

  • Applications expected to open early 2025
